hi, i live in minnesota and any real help would be appreciated. I got my second dui 4 years ago and was sentenced to minor jail time and a alcohol class that last a few months for once a week and i had to pay for and some fines. i am on probation until sept. 2010. i finished the class and have been sober since my last dui. of course, the class sends a letter to your probation officer with a recommendation. the recommendation was go to AA meetings for a year. i have a very busy schedule and i am having a hard time making meetings. i have a meeting with my P.O. tomorrow and i visit him once every 90 days. i’ve been to 7 meetings since my last visit. what i’m wondering, is if the judge didn’t sentence me to AA meetings and the class did, am i still required to go being the judge didn’t order it? i’m just worried about violating probation and going to jail again. i brought up the idea of online AA meetings and he said “no”.
